Team News: Replayed Derby squad confirmed

It’s a busy week for City’s Men’s squad, set to face Melbourne Victory this Wednesday night in the second of three games in eight days.

This fixture will be the replayed Melbourne Derby from December, set to resume from the 22-minute mark with City 1-0 ahead thanks to Aiden O’Neill’s 11th-minute goal.

We’ve been informed by Football Australia (FA) today that captain Scott Jamieson will be available on Wednesday and his one-match suspension following Sunday’s sending-off will be served against Wellington Phoenix next Monday.

FA have deemed Wednesday’s match to be a started, but not completed fixture from prior to his send-off against Newcastle. Therefore, he is free to play in the replayed Derby and will miss our next full game.

Our squad will look quite similar to Sunday afternoon, with a pair of young defenders, Kerrin Stokes and Sebastian Esposito, being added to the extended squad.

From the original Derby fixture back in December, we’ll be missing both Mathew Leckie and Richard van der Venne from our starting line-up with both currently out through injury, while Taras Gomulka (originally a substitute) has now departed the club.

A new XI and substitutes list will be announced an hour before kick-off from the below squad.
