Our City squads are packing their bags as we head to Sydney for a pair of away clashes this Saturday.
It’s shaping up to be a big evening for City fans in front of the TV, starting at 5:00 pm when our top-of-the-table Women’s squad takes on Western Sydney Wanderers.
Almost immediately after, all eyes will shift to our A-League Men’s clash against Macarthur FC.
Following a pair of frustrating results last weekend, both teams will be eager to bounce back and secure the all-important three points.
Michael Matricciani and Aurelio Vidmar have now confirmed their extended squads as both squads prepare to travel on Friday.
Emilia Murray and Kiera Meyers have been promoted to the women’s team’s extended squad as they prepare for another key matchup in their undefeated campaign. Bryleeh Henry will miss another week due to concussion, but continues to progress well in her recovery.
There’s positive news for Vidmar’s side, with Marco Tilio included after being sidelined since early November due to a hamstring injury.
He’ll still have to complete training on Friday before the travelling squad is finalised, but he’s currently ticked every box and looked impressive on the training pitch.
He’s joined in the extended squad by young defender, Harry Shillington.
In further encouraging news, Max Caputo continues to progress well in his recovery from a broken leg suffered in pre-season.
While not included in the squad this week, Caputo will take part in a friendly with City’s VPL1 side this weekend to build match fitness as he targets a return following our bye.
