Vidosic: I’m just ready to impress for the Club

Melbourne City’s latest signing Dario Vidosic says he’s ready and raring to head out onto AAMI Park on Saturday as he looks to make a debut for his new Club.

The striker arrived at CFA Melbourne last week where he trained fully with the squad as he became City’s second January signing with Harrison Delbridge.

With Vidosic looking to settle after a disjointed period with his previous side, the 30-year-old says the move has been made easier by the warm introduction from everyone at the Club.

“Everyone has been real welcoming,” Vidosic said.

“That first moment when you walk in the door, you get blown away a bit by the facilities and everything that you have around you from the support to the staff and coaches and also the boys have been welcoming as well.

“It’s a really good team, there’s a good atmosphere at the club so now we just need to get the win on the weekend.”

Ironically, Vidosic’s first match in City colours will be against his previous side in Wellington and the forward says there won’t be much more intel he can provide about this week’s opponents.

“It’s a bit of a strange feeling because earlier in the season I came here and I was in the yellow and black and now this time it will be against them,” he said.

“I think with the game [in Round 3], everyone has an understanding of Wellington and their direct opponents. It’s going to be a tough game, we know that, and I’m just looking forward to get out there and make my debut for the club.

“I’ve been quite good on debut, I’ve notched up a few goals on my first games so hopefully I can continue that but most of all, it’s the three points.”

Vidosic and City take on Wellington this Saturday night at AAMI Park, kick-off 7.50pm. Click here to get your tickets for the match.
