This week in our City: Hello Chelo

The countdown continues towards another big season with another busy week. See what the players got up to this week.

Hello Chelo

For the second time (???), Marcello was welcomed to the Club – especially Bruno Fornaroli – who pulled the trigger early once again on his announcement. This time though, we were a little more prepared. Despite this, Marcelo got his first minutes for the Club in the FFA Cup and the Argentinian looks to be an impressive pickup.

I’m very greatfull and happy to be part of the @melbournecity family ?⚽️ #9 #vamos #profilephoto

Gomes in the News

After his FIFA Interactive World Cup, Marcus Gomes has been making headlines as our eSports player, being one of the only players of his kind across all Australian sport codes. See his chat with Triple J this week. He also took on Kez Brown and City TV presenter Kyle Walker (not that one) in FIFA alongside NYCFC’s Chris Holly.

Cahill watch

It’s been another busy week for Australia’s greatest ever goal scorer and during his pre-season and Socceroos schedule, he got a short window to return home with family to Sydney. Most notably, Cahill was in Penrith wishing the Panthers the best ahead of their Semi Final clash with Brisbane Broncos.

The best of social media

Bruno Fornaroli celebrated his 30th birthday with his mates this week with his ankle cast in close attendance.
