David Williams and Aziz Behich have been selected to represent Melbourne Heart FC in the initial 32 man ‘fan voted’ squad for the FOXTEL A-League All Stars vs Juventus match on Sunday 10 August.
The A-League All Stars will meet the newly crowned Italian Champions Juventus FC at ANZ Stadium, Sydney, on 10 August 2014.
In the first stage of voting over 50,000 votes were cast by fans choosing from all Hyundai A-League clubs. The second stage to determine the top 16 is open so get voting now at www.a-leagueallstars.com.au/vote.
Foxtel A-League All Stars Head Coach Josep Gombau (Adelaide United) will then use his voting right to include four wild card selections to make up the 20 man squad.
The players making the top five were Sydney FC’s Alessandro del Piero, Adelaide United goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic, A-League Golden Boot winner Adam Taggart from Newcastle Jets, Ivan Franjic from Brisbane Roar with Johnny Warren Medallist Thomas Broich topping the list at number one.
FFA CEO David Gallop highlighted the quality and excitement on show in the Hyundai A-league which reflected the voting towards the star performer players “who light up the competition each week”.
“The fans have shown they love the players who turn on the style and make the A-League such great entertainment” said Gallop.
