Melbourne Heart FC advises Adrian Zahra has been released from his playing contract with immediate effect to accept an offer with Hyundai A-League Grand Finalist, Perth Glory.

The 21-year old made 19 appearances for Heart during his debut campaign, but none during the 2011/12 season as he embarked on a lengthy road to recovery from a serious knee injury.

Praising his tenacity and contribution to the Club, Chief Executive Officer Scott Munn wished Zahra well as he moves across the Nullarbor to launch the next phase of his professional career.

“Adrian is one of the great success stories of our Club, a Victorian Premier League graduate (from Melbourne Knights) who successfully made the transition to Hyundai A-League football with ease,” Munn said.

“In successfully navigating his way through a difficult period of his career, Adrian has demonstrated immense character and deserves an opportunity to press his claims for first team football.

“Moving to a team such as Perth Glory will offer Adrian a chance to further his football development and we wish him well for the future.”
