Macklin Freke

Experienced goalkeeper Macklin Freke joined Melbourne City ahead of the 2026/27 season, signing a two-year deal after more than a decade with Brisbane Roar.

Comfortable in possession and composed under pressure, Freke is well suited to City’s possession-based style of play. His calm decision-making, strong shot-stopping ability and confidence with the ball at his feet make him a reliable presence at the back.

Bringing valuable A-League experience to City’s goalkeeping group, Freke adds quality competition and leadership as he begins the next chapter of his career in City blue.
