7 Attacker
Melbourne City and Socceroos star attacker, Mathew Leckie, joined City in 2021.
Leckie returned to the A-League after spending 10 seasons in Germany, where he had stints with Hertha BSC, FC Ingolstadt 04, FSV Frankfurt and Borussia Monchengladbach.
With over 75 appearances in the Green and Gold, Leckie is one of Australia’s most lethal attackers. It was his goal against Denmark in the Socceroos final FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Group Stage fixture which saw Australia seal a Round of 16 birth.
His stellar year in 2022, in which he lifted the Premiers Plate with City alongside his historic World Cup goal, saw him unveiled as one of three nominees for the prestigious AFC Player of the Year award.
