Team News: Squad to face Sydney confirmed

Home Melbourne City matches have been rare for the month of February, but the Men’s squad is currently gearing up to face Sydney FC.

It’ll be just the second time City has played at AAMI Park as the home team this month, with the squad looking to return to the winner’s list after a disappointing loss in last week’s away Derby.

That marked just the second loss of the season for the high-flying City outfit, whose only other defeat came away at the hands of the team it’s set to host this Saturday.

Head Coach Rado Vidosic has now named his squad for the weekend, with a key omission the most notable news from this week’s squad.

Captain Scott Jamieson is set to miss Saturday’s clash through a minor hamstring injury, while young guns Raphael Borges Rodrigues and James Nieuwenhuizen are now unavailable through Australia U20 duty.

Curtis Good has again been included in the squad and will be given every chance to play, but does still have some final tests to pass in training on Friday before getting cleared for action.

Young trio Arion Sulemani, Max Caputo and Emin Durakovic have all been promoted to the senior squad.
