Melbourne City might be unbeaten to start the season, but there’s a few more levels to rise to according to defender Karly Roestbakken.
Speaking to the media ahead of City’s first doubleheader of the season on Saturday, Roestbakken also reflected on her journey back to the Matildas.

A LOT MORE TO GIVE
“I think we know as a group that we have a lot more to bring, and in that game [v Sydney] there were a lot of areas that we needed to improve on.
“We’ve worked on things I think we need to work on throughout the week. We need to fix a few things up in our final third and also all over the park… we know that Wanderers are going to be a tough side, they’ve had a pretty rough start but they’re going to be tough to play against tomorrow.”
JOURNEY BACK TO MATILDAS
“It was always in the back of my mind but my goal was just getting back out on the pitch and playing football consistently… whatever came from that, came from that.
“But it is really nice, I think it came a little bit earlier than I expected but it is a really nice feeling and to be able to go back into that set up, I’m very grateful.”
CITY’S BELIEF
“It was tough coming back from [a long run of injuries], but City’s given me everything, the facilities, the physios, the coaches, everyone who has believed in me and they’ve got me back on the pitch.
“Honestly, I’m just loving training every single day and playing week in and week out so touchwood that it stays that way. Being out with injury has taught me a lot, and not to take things for granted, so I’m just absolutely loving training and playing all the time again. “
