Melbourne City trio Holly McNamara, Leah Davidson and Bryleeh Henry have been named in the Matildas squad for the team’s upcoming friendlies against Argentina.
The City stars will take on Argentina in a pair of friendlies, with the first of those being played at Marvel Stadium on Friday 30 May, before they head to the nation’s capital for their second fixture.
McNamara, Davidson and Henry have each enjoyed standout campaigns in City colours, with their consistent performances catching the eye of national selectors. Their call-ups are a testament to their performances in City’s history-making unbeaten regular season.
It’s been a season to remember for McNamara who claimed the A-League Women Golden Boot with 15 goals in 18 appearances, playing a crucial role in City’s undefeated run to the Premiers Plate.
An engine in the heart of midfield, Davidson has thrived under Head Coach Michael Matricciani, with her consistency key to City’s success. The 24-year-old’s selection comes after two huge Semi-Final performances from the midfielder.

After suffering an interrupted start to the campaign with injury, Henry was vital to the team’s success towards the end of the season. Netting five goals and registering one assist, the gut-running attacker has found her best form in recent months and her national team call-up is an acknowledgement of that.
The trio will link up with the Matildas during the May/June FIFA Women’s International Window.
