DETAILS CONFIRMED: Australia Cup Round of 32 clash locked in!

Melbourne City’s Australia Cup Round of 32 fixture has now been locked in, with our 2026/27 campaign set to begin against Weston Bears FC on Sunday 26 July.

We’ll travel to Hunter City Motor Group Stadium in Northern New South Wales for the clash, with kick-off scheduled for 2:00pm as Aurelio Vidmar’s side opens its campaign.

After Monday night’s draw confirmed Weston Bears as our opponents, the fixture details have now been finalised, with the NPL Northern NSW side given hosting rights under competition regulations.

The match will mark Weston Bears’ second appearance in the Australia Cup final rounds after making their debut at this stage of the competition last season.

For City, it presents an opportunity to begin the new campaign on a strong note after our Australia Cup run came to an early end last year. With that fixture falling earlier in pre-season, a youthful City side took on APIA Leichhardt as the Club balanced preparations for the season ahead.

With the squad returning to training in early July, Vidmar and his coaching staff will immediately turn their attention to preparations for the trip to the Hunter Valley.

Broadcast details for the Round of 32 will be confirmed closer to matchday, with select fixtures to be shown exclusively on Paramount+, while others will be available live and free via 10 streaming and Football Australia’s YouTube channel.

The draw for the Australia Cup Round of 16 will take place on Thursday 30 July, following the completion of all Round of 32 fixtures.
