Melbourne City is bringing art and football together this season, teaming up with Melbourne-based contemporary artist Freo to launch an exclusive collection of limited-edition t-shirts.
Across five special home fixtures at AAMI Park throughout the 2026/27 season, City fans will have the opportunity to get their hands on unique designs celebrating the Club, its players and some of the biggest moments on the calendar.
Each t-shirt will feature original artwork created by Freo, with the first design set to be unveiled at City’s Halloween-themed home opener against Sydney FC at AAMI Park on Saturday 31 October.
With limited quantities available, the collection offers supporters the chance to take home a unique piece of City memorabilia.
MEET THE ARTIST
Known for his bold portraiture, vibrant colours and expressive imagery, Freo is a South-East Melbourne-based contemporary artist whose work explores identity, mental health, social issues and human connection.
Since beginning his professional exhibiting career in 2018, Freo has held several solo exhibitions and collaborated with a range of notable athletes and brands, including Oscar Piastri, Ned Brockmann, Blundstone and the Australian Open golf tournament.

His journey into art began as a way of expressing himself and navigating his own mental health experiences, eventually turning a lifelong passion for creativity into a full-time career.
Drawing inspiration from street art, pop culture and comic-style illustrations, Freo has developed a distinctive artistic style that will now feature across City’s exclusive merchandise collection.
But his connection to Melbourne City goes beyond the artwork.
A CITY CONNECTION
The collaboration has a special family connection, with Freo’s sister Chloe a passionate Melbourne City supporter who regularly attends both Men’s and Women’s fixtures.
Through Chloe’s love of the Club, Freo began following City himself, eventually reaching out about the possibility of working together.
“It all started with my sister Chloe going way back,” he reflected. “She’s a huge, huge fan of the Women’s team and the Men’s team, she’s been following it for ages. Then I got into it as she would come home from matches so obsessed.”

“It made me have a look at City’s channels and I loved the culture and the way the Club was heading. I thought this was pretty sick, I would love to get involved.”
What started with sketches inspired by City players has now developed into a collaboration that will see his artwork worn by supporters throughout the season.
For Freo, seeing people connect with his creations is one of the most rewarding parts of being an artist.
“I can’t wait to see people wearing the t-shirt, that’d be sick, I love that,” he said. “I always love that when I create something and see it like that, it’s the best.”
FIVE GAMES. FIVE DESIGNS.
The exclusive collection will feature five limited-edition t-shirts released across selected Melbourne City home fixtures throughout the 2026/27 season.
Each release will bring a fresh design, combining Freo’s distinctive artistic style with the Club’s identity and the occasion surrounding each fixture.
The collection will kick off with a special Halloween-inspired design when City hosts Sydney FC in its first home game of the A-League Men’s season.
With a limited number of shirts available for each release, supporters will want to be at AAMI Park to secure their piece of the collection.
