Melbourne City young gun, Holly McNamara, has been named in the Matildas squad ahead of the team’s fixtures with Canada during the November-December international window.
The 20-year-old has been called up by Tony Gustavsson following her stellar start to the Liberty A-League season.
In the opening four fixtures of the season, McNamara has netted four goals and won two penalties, which includes a perfect hat-trick against Western Sydney Wanderers in Round 4.
McNamara’s superb run of form saw her take out our Etihad Airways Player of the Month award and the PFA Player of the Month award before being called up for the national team.
The attacker will depart for Canada following our Round 6 fixture away to Sydney FC, returning ahead of our blockbuster clash with Perth Glory in Round 7.
Gustavsson squad includes a number of former City stars, featuring the likes of championship-winning City players Steph Catley, Ellie Carpenter and Aivi Luik.
The Matildas will take on Canada in two friendlies, the first at Starlight Stadium in Langford and the second at BC Place in Vancouver.
