Melbourne City rising star, Medin Memeti, has earned a place in the Young Socceroos squad for the upcoming AFC U20 Asian Cup China PR 2025™.
The Young Socceroos find themselves in Group A, alongside tournament hosts China PR, Kyrgyz Republic, and 2014 champions Qatar.
The 42nd edition of the tournament will be held from February 12 to March 1, 2025. This event also serves as a qualifying tournament for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025™, with the top four teams advancing to the age group’s showpiece event.
Memeti’s selection follows a breakout season with City, where the 17-year-old has made an impressive impact in 11 A-League Men matches, including seven starts, two goals, and one assist.
A City Academy product, Memeti signed his first senior contract in July 2024, putting pen to paper on a three year deal at City with an option for a further season.
The youngster will depart for international duty following City’s clash with Macarthur FC on Saturday 25 January.
