A-League Men All Stars: Leckie and Arslan set to take on Premier League giants Newcastle United

Melbourne City stars Mathew Leckie and Tolgay Arslan will take on English Premier League heavyweights Newcastle United with the A-League Men All Stars on Friday 24 May.

Led by former City coach, Patrick Kisnorbo, Leckie and Arslan have been selected in the All Stars preliminary 13-player squad to take on Newcastle at Marvel Stadium.

Leckie and Arslan join City’s A-League Women stars Hannah Wilkinson, Rebekah Stott and Rhianna Pollicina, who will take on Arsenal in a huge double header.

A-League All Stars Men Head Coach, Patrick Kisnorbo, said: “Within this squad we have a number of rising stars, Socceroos and International stars who will come together with the aim of taking down one of English football’s biggest clubs – Newcastle United.

“I look forward to working with this group along with the final additions to the squad ahead of  what will be a big night for Australian football.

“This squad is coming to win and I can’t wait for the electric atmosphere and watching the best of the A-League test themselves against some of the best in the world.” 

The A-League Men’s All Stars clash will be a doubleheader with the Women’s All Stars, who host Arsenal Women FC.
