Melbourne City FC has secured its final Women’s international signing ahead of the 2024/25 season, with highly rated Mexican American midfielder, Lourdes Bosch, joining the Club on a two-year contract.

The 23-year-old attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and California Baptist University during a decorated college career which saw her receive First Team All-Conference honours on multiple occasions.

Ahead of the 2023 season, Bosch was named on the watchlist for the prestigious Hermann Trophy, awarded to the best college player across the United States.

Primarily an attacking midfielder, the American also possesses the creativity on the ball and finishing nous to make her a threatening attacking option across the front third.

Bosch’s versatility sees her further bolster a City squad already brimming with attacking talent, joining the likes of Rhianna Pollicina, Mariana Speckmaier and Holly McNamara.

Lourdes Bosch arrives for day 1 of City’s pre-season.

Quick to highlight the versatility Bosch adds to the squad, Melbourne City FC Director Football, Michael Petrillo, spoke following her signing.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lourdes to City and secure her signature for the next two seasons.

“She’s a player who possesses great technical ability, attacking flair and versatility in the final third. Her ability to find the back of the net and create chances for her teammates will further strengthen our attacking options.

“We’re confident that the squad we’ve assembled, further strengthened by the addition of Lourdes, has us well placed for the beginning of our AFC Women’s Champions League campaign.”

Lourdes Bosch expressed her delight in joining City.

“I’m so excited for this opportunity to play professionally in Australia.

“I have heard so many great things about Melbourne City and the culture of the Club, which I can’t wait to be a part of.

“I’m ready to make my mark in Australia and will do everything I can to continue the team’s recent success.”
