Melbourne City FC is delighted to announce the signing of Australian youth international Quinn MacNicol on a three-year deal ahead of the 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Widely regarded as one of the country’s brightest emerging attacking talents, MacNicol arrives in Melbourne after making his professional debut for Brisbane Roar at just 15 years of age. Still only 18, he has already made 23 senior appearances across all competitions.
Comfortable operating as an attacking midfielder or across a range of forward positions, MacNicol is recognised for his technical quality, creativity and composure in possession.
His talent has also been recognised internationally, having represented Australia across multiple youth age groups. Most recently, he featured for the Young Socceroos and previously captained the Joeys at the 2025 AFC U17 Asian Cup.

MacNicol’s arrival continues Melbourne City’s commitment to identifying and developing elite young talent, joining a squad that blends exciting prospects with proven experience.
Melbourne City FC Director of Football Michael Petrillo said the Club was thrilled to secure one of Australia’s most promising young players.
“Quinn is a player we’ve been monitoring closely for several years and we’re delighted to welcome him to Melbourne City,” Petrillo said.
“He’s an exciting attacking talent with enormous upside, and we believe our environment provides the ideal platform for him to continue his development and take the next step in his career.
“For someone so young, Quinn has already shown impressive maturity and quality at senior level. With the right mindset and continued hard work, we believe he can become an important contributor for our Club over the coming years.”
Quinn MacNicol said Melbourne City’s proven track record of developing young players made the move an easy decision.
“I’m really excited to be joining Melbourne City and taking the next step in my career,” MacNicol said.
“It’s a Club with a fantastic reputation for developing young players and providing opportunities to succeed at the highest level, which made this an easy decision for me.
“I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates, coaches and staff, and doing everything I can to continue improving and contribute to the team’s success over the coming seasons.”
