Scott Jamieson’s remarkable Melbourne City journey is set to continue, with the Club legend re-signing as an Assistant Coach for the 2026/27 season.
The upcoming campaign will mark Jamieson’s 10th season at the Club, having first arrived as a player back in September 2017 before becoming one of the most influential figures in Melbourne City history both on and off the pitch.

After previous spells overseas and across the A-League, Jamieson quickly found a home in Melbourne. Just one season after arriving, he was appointed Club Captain ahead of the 2018/19 campaign and would go on to help lead City through the most successful era in Club history.
Across his six seasons as a player in City blue, Jamieson made 161 appearances – the fourth-highest in Club history – while captaining the side to three consecutive Premierships and the Club’s maiden Championship in 2021.

Following his retirement from professional football in 2023, the former skipper transitioned directly into coaching and has remained an integral part of City’s football program ever since.
Now entering another season as part of City’s coaching staff, Jamieson has been involved in several significant achievements, including further Championship success and the Club’s historic run to the knockout stages of the AFC Champions League Elite for the first time.

Director of Football, Michael Petrillo, said Jamieson’s leadership and understanding of the Club made his return an easy decision.
“Scott has played such an important role in the growth of this football club, both as a player and now as a coach,” Petrillo said.
“He brings a wealth of experience, strong leadership and a real understanding of what it means to represent Melbourne City.
“Since moving into coaching, he’s continued to have a really positive impact around the group, working closely with both our younger and more experienced members of the squad. We’re excited to have him remain part of the coaching staff for the 2026/27 season.”
