Melbourne City’s Aideen Keane has become the fourth member of the Club’s Premiership-Championship winning squad to be selected in the A-League Women All Stars team, capping off an outstanding first season in City blue.
Keane joins teammates Rebekah Stott, Shelby McMahon and Leticia McKenna in the squad set to take on English Women’s Super League powerhouse Chelsea Women at the Sydney Super Cup, as the Ninja A-League’s finest prepare to test themselves against one of the world’s biggest clubs.
Arriving at City ahead of the 2025/26 season, Keane wasted little time making her mark.
The exciting attacker quickly established herself as one of the competition’s most dangerous attacking threats, playing a crucial role in City’s historic campaign as the Club secured a record-breaking third consecutive Premiership before defeating Wellington Phoenix 3-1 at AAMI Park to complete the Premiership-Championship double.
Blessed with blistering pace, explosive acceleration and a fearless approach in the final third, Keane consistently caused problems for opposition defences throughout the season.
Whether driving at defenders, creating opportunities for teammates or finishing chances herself, the attacker became a key component of Michael Matricciani’s side.
Her impact was reflected on the scoresheet, finishing the Ninja A-League season with six goals and one assist while delivering countless moments that helped propel City to another trophy-winning campaign.
Keane’s outstanding debut season with the Club was also recognised by her fellow professionals, earning selection in the PFA Team of the Season alongside several of her City teammates.
Now, the attacker will have the opportunity to showcase her exciting qualities on another major stage when the A-League Women All Stars face Chelsea Women.
After making an immediate impression in City blue and helping deliver one of the most successful seasons in Club history, Keane’s selection is a fitting reward for a debut campaign that firmly established her among the Ninja A-League’s best.
