Captain’s Message: Jamo ahead of Adelaide away

Hey City fans,

Firstly, on behalf of the whole playing group, we want to say a huge thank you to our fans. As you know, we have had the majority of the squad isolating over Christmas with Covid. The support and kind words that you sent us were greatly appreciated.

The start to this season isn’t where we want it to be, but there are still plenty of games to play and we all know that our best football is still ahead of us.

After the disappointing result against Wellington in the FFA Cup, our focus now is purely on the league. We aren’t happy with where we are on the ladder. We want to be at the top, not in the middle.

Tonight we head to Adelaide for another big game. It’s never an easy trip over there and they are a team that nobody in our squad wants to drop points against. We’re looking forward to bringing the fight to them and hopefully coming home with all three points.

After that, we are still waiting to find out who we play next. Covid is causing all sorts of disruption for the A-Leagues and we certainly feel for the people charged with organising the fixtures!

While it may still be a while until our next game at AAMI Park, we know you’ll be cheering us on from your lounge rooms and we look forward to seeing you back home soon.
