Details for Melbourne City FC’s Round of 16 match in the Westfield FFA Cup have been confirmed.
City will travel to Perry Park in Brisbane on Wednesday 24 August 2016 to take on Brisbane Strikers on the opening night of the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 after Football Federation Australia (FFA) announced all of the match details for the Round of 16 on Friday.
The match, which will be broadcast LIVE on FOX SPORTS, could be the first time City’s latest signing, Tim Cahill – Australia’s all time leading goal scorer – takes the field in a competitive match after signing a with Melbourne City FC.
City progressed from the Round of 32 with a 2-1 away win against Perth-based Floreat Athena on Tuesday 2 August, with Nick Fitzgerald and Anthony Caceres.
Notably, it will also be the first time Brisbane Strikers have hosted a match in the Westfield FFA Cup Final Rounds after all four of their prior matches have been away from home.
As well as broadcasting one match live and exclusive in full on each match day, FOX SPORTS will also provide updates and crosses of the other matches. The non broadcast matches will also be streamed LIVE at www.foxsports.com.au/football/ffa-cup/ffacupondemand and Apple TV.
