First look: Our 2022/23 A-League Men’s fixtures are in!

The wait is finally over; our fixtures for the 2022/23 A-League Men’s season have been officially confirmed.

City are set to open the season at home on Friday 7 October with a massive Grand Final re-match against Western United at AAMI Park, kicking off at 7:45pm.

In a big win for families, nine of our 13 home games this season will kick off at or before 5pm; a welcome relief for those wanting to get the kids home in time for bed.

Patrick Kisnorbo’s men will play four of its first six fixtures at AAMI Park, leaving Melbourne just twice prior to the FIFA World Cup break across late November and early December.

City will again host the now traditional Christmas Derby in 2022/23, with the iconic clash set to take place on Saturday 17 December, one of only four 7:45pm home kick-offs this season.

After midweek games became the norm over the last couple of seasons, fans will be glad to see the return to a more traditional fixture for 2022/23. Whilst City will still play twice at home on weekdays, these matches are set to be big occasions in their own right.

First up, we’ll be keeping the Christmas festivities going when we host the Central Coast Mariners on Tuesday 27 December, followed by a big Easter Monday public holiday clash when we face Wellington Phoenix at home on the 10th of April next year.

Our season will wrap up on Friday 28 April, with Western Sydney coming to AAMI Park in what will hopefully be our last fixture before a 9th consecutive Finals campaign.
