Heart Set To Unleash Terra

Brazilian striker Alex Terra is set to make his return to the Melbourne Heart FC squad for tonight-s match against North Queensland Fury in Townsville.

After missing three games through injury, the former Fluminense star has finally returned to fitness, with Head Coach John van ‘t Schip ready to unleash the Derby goal scoring hero against the Fury.

However, as Terra-s season has been interrupted by a series of niggling injuries, van ‘t Schip is set to err on the side of caution and utilise the diminutive front man as an impact player off the bench.

“(Alex-s) going to travel with us. He will have to get into the team again with maybe not playing a full 90 minutes, but slowly building it up,” he said.

“We-ll have to see how the things are going up in North Queensland and decide if he-s going to play a part, or just be with us and see what he can play on Sunday. But he trained very well over the last two weeks.”

One player unable to make the trip to Townsville is John Aloisi, with the Socceroo legend yet to recover from a knee injury which has sidelined him for a month.

He is joined on the injury list by Brendan Hamill and Kristian Sarkies, although the duo are poised to be available for selection in the coming weeks.

“John Aloisi is not ready yet, Brendan Hamill is not ready yet, but he-s looking good, so he can probably start training with the squad next week,” he said.

“Everybody is coming together, Kristian is going very well. Of course he-s still a few weeks away from being ready to get into the squad, but he-s training well. It-s looking quite good physically.”
