Opposition Team News: Victory name team for Derby

Our Derby rivals have selected their squad for Saturday’s Melbourne Derby. See who Kevin Muscat has selected in his extended side for the contest.

It’s mixed news for Victory coming into the Derby with one important exclusion and one international returning to the line up.

James Troisi will miss 3-4 weeks with a fractured collarbone after sustaining the injury in their 1-1 draw with Brisbane Roar last Friday night. The striker underwent surgery this week and will miss his first Derby since returning home.

Victory do see the return of their other forward acquisition from the off-season in Marco Rojas. The Kiwi international returns to the side from the All-Whites tour of the Americas after overcoming an injury scare from the match against Mexico.

The Etihad Stadium residents have also added Nick Ansell, Stefan Nigro and Sebastian Pasquali to their extended side that will be cut down to 16 90 minutes before kick-off.

City take on Victory in the Melbourne Derby at Etihad Stadium on Saturday, kick-off 7.50pm.
