Melbourne City has received a timely boost ahead of Sunday’s clash with Wellington Phoenix, with Mathew Leckie added to the extended squad.
The experienced attacker is in line for his first appearance since October after undergoing a hip procedure in December aimed at restoring full movement after repeated soft-tissue injuries.
Having completed his recovery, Leckie now returns to the squad at a crucial stage of the season.
As a result of his inclusion, Ben Mazzeo drops out of the previously announced squad for Sunday’s fixture at AAMI Park.
