What is your role at Melbourne City FC?

I am the City in the Community Programs Coordinator. I look after the various different community programs, including Soccer Mums, Cityzens Giving, Homework Club, I Speak Football and City Challenge. I ensure that reporting and safeguarding of our programs is kept up to date and of the highest quality.

What is it like to work in the football environment?

Working at a football club is brilliant. Working within the community gives me the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and give them the opportunity to play football in a safe space. Every week is different and my role allows me to take part is some amazing events and see the benefits that our programs have within the community.

Why is it important to recognise the impact of women on football club’s at all levels?

Having females in a variety of roles and positions within a football club gives young girls role models and shows them that female’s can make a difference. The club has a huge commitment to female football and improving the experience of being apart of the growing sport. It makes me very proud to be apart of a club that is dissolving boundaries for females to be a part of football.

How important is it to recognise International Women’s Day?

It is important to recognise International Women’s Day to celebrate the achievements of females far and wide and also encourage females to participate in anything they want to be apart of.

Who has been one of your female mentors/inspirations in your career and why?

My role model would be my grandma. She has been a big part of my life and has always pushed me to be a better version of myself. She told me to never give up on my dreams and showed me that if I worked hard I could achieve what I put my mind to.
