City’s star midfielder, Tolgay Arslan, has been named in the Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) 2023/24 A-League Men’s Team of the Season.
In his first season in the league, Arslan made 23 A-League Men’s appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing a further seven assists – quickly establishing himself as one of the competition’s most lethal attackers.
The midfielders stellar first season in City colours saw him crowned the inaugural Scott Jamieson Medal, as he was also awarded the Players’ Player Award and Golden Boot at City’s Player of the Year awards night.
Based on peer recognition, the player-voted PFA Team of the Season remains one of the highest accolades a footballer can receive in Australia.
Alongside being named in the PFA Team of the Season, Arslan was yesterday recognised for his impressive season, as he was announced in the A-League Men All Stars side alongside City teammate, Mathew Leckie.
Arslan joins City’s Rebekah Stott, Rhianna Pollicina, Taylor Otto and Dario Vidosic, who were all selected in the PFA’s A-League Women’s Team of the Season.
