A familiar face returns to City

Melbourne City FC is pleased to confirm the return of experienced defender Harrison Delbridge, who has re-joined the Club for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

Delbridge returns to City after previously spending three seasons at the Club between 2017 and 2020, making 68 appearances across all competitions and establishing himself as a dependable figure in defence.

The 33-year-old rejoins City as a free agent following a highly successful five-year spell with K League 1 side Incheon United, where he made 132 appearances and became a consistent presence at the highest level of Asian football.

His arrival comes at a key point in the campaign, adding experience, composure and leadership to Aurelio Vidmar’s squad as City navigates a demanding run of domestic and continental fixtures.

A proven performer with AFC Champions League experience, Delbridge has also represented the Socceroos at senior international level, further strengthening City’s defensive depth during a crucial period of the season.

He becomes City’s fourth signing of the January transfer window as the Club continues to reinforce its squad ahead of the run home in the Isuzu UTE A-League season and a pivotal stage of the AFC Champions League Elite campaign.

Delbridge will link up with the squad in training next week ahead of City’s upcoming trip to Wellington to face the Phoenix.

Melbourne City FC Director of Football, Michael Petrillo, said:

“We’re pleased to welcome Harrison back to Melbourne City. His experience and understanding of the Club make him a strong addition at an important stage of the season.

“He brings leadership, composure and reliability to our defensive group, and we’re confident he’ll settle in quickly and make a positive impact as we head into a demanding run of fixtures.”

Harrison Delbridge said:

“The opportunity to return to City and come back to a Club I have such fond memories of is really exciting for me.

“I’m looking forward to getting to work, reconnecting with some familiar faces, and doing everything I can to help the team as we push through a busy and important period of the season.”
