Biography
Lydia Williams joined Melbourne City FC at the beginning of the 2016/17 Westfield W-League season, where she has since played an integral role as City’s first-choice goalkeeper.
Since joining City ahead of the 2016/17 season, Williams has become a two-time championship winning goalkeeper with the side in City blue.
Before moving to Melbourne, the shot-stopper spent six seasons with her hometown club, Canberra United – where she won two W-League premierships and one championship title.
Williams brings a wealth of experience both domestically and internationally, where she has established herself as the Matildas first-choice ‘keeper. Since making her international debut at the age of 18 in 2006, Williams has earned over 70 international caps to go alongside over 100 W-League appearances.
