Melbourne City FC is pleased to announce the return of Australian international Daniel Arzani, who rejoins the Club on loan until the end of the season.
An Academy graduate, Arzani returns to the Club where his professional career began, having first broken through in City blue as a teenager in 2016.
During his initial spell in Melbourne, he quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young talents in Australian football, earning A-League Young Footballer of the Year honours and widespread recognition.

Now 27 years old and with 11 Socceroos caps to his name, Arzani returns to City after gaining extensive experience both domestically and overseas. Since departing the Club, his career has taken him across Scotland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and Hungary, most recently featuring in Europe with Ferencváros.
Across that period, Arzani has continued to develop his game at both domestic and continental levels, returning to City with over 100 A-League Men appearances and 10 goals to his name.
A dynamic and skilful winger capable of operating across the front line, Arzani adds attacking depth, versatility and elite-level experience to Aurelio Vidmar’s squad at a crucial stage of the campaign.
His arrival marks City’s second signing of the January window, joining fellow Socceroo Ryan Teague, as the Club pushes towards the pointy end of the A-League Men’s season and a pivotal phase of its AFC Champions League Elite campaign.

Melbourne City FC Director of Football, Michael Petrillo, said:
“We’re at an important point in the season and bringing Daniel back gives us additional quality and flexibility in attacking areas.
“He knows the Club, understands what’s expected, and comes in ready to contribute straight away as we push for finals football domestically and continue our campaign in Asia.”
Daniel Arzani said:
“It’s great to walk through the doors at City once again and see so many familiar faces.
“There’s a great opportunity ahead both in the A-League and in Asia, and I’m excited to get to work and do everything I can to make an impact for the rest of the season.”
