Melbourne Heart FC Head Coach John Aloisi is likely to continue to rotate a number of players in the Red and White-s third pre-season friendly against Richmond SC on Friday evening.
Melbourne Heart tackles Richmond at Kevin Bartlett Reserve from 7.30pm, and Aloisi has reiterated the importance of pre-season fixtures allowing players to experience varying levels of game time.
Aloisi made five changes at half time in the side-s last pre-season friendly, in which Harry Kewell made his anticipated debut, and, importantly, allowed the Club’s new number 10 match time.
Goalkeepers Andrew Redmayne and Tando Velaphi also shared half a match each last Wednesday, with the rotation policy allowing as many squad members game time as possible.
Dylan Macallister netted a hat-trick and David Williams five goals in that match, while Aziz Behich returned for the Red and White for the first time since returning from Bursaspor, but all players in tomorrow’s squad are likely to be used where possible.
“We will be rotating a number of players throughout the match to give players match time,” Aloisi said.
“Kewell played his first 45 minutes last week, so it will be similar this time around, or he may play even longer.
“It should be a good challenge against Richmond who are an organised side, but our main focus is to concentrate on our playing style.”
Melbourne Heart’s next match will be against A-League opponent Brisbane Roar in Lismore.
